The last time a major platform opened usernames, it took two days for the lookalikes to go. Binance founder Changpeng Zhao reported he could not reserve his own. Cloudflare opened handle reservations on 4 August 2026.
WhatsApp opened username reservations on 29 June 2026. By 1 July, TechCrunch had found lookalike usernames for India’s prime minister, Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Reliance Jio and the Reserve Bank of India.

That depends entirely on whether the name can be transferred at all. On ENS, Base and Solana it moves by signed transaction and a sale completes. On cloudflare.pay no transfer mechanism has been published as of 7 August 2026, so any handover is account-level and nothing at the platform level enforces it. Settle that question before the price.
No. Holding a handle is not a trademark and a trademark is not an automatic claim on a handle. They are separate systems that occasionally point at the same word, which is exactly why the first days of a namespace are contested.
